Biography
Warwick is the opera critic for Metro newspaper, and writes on the performing arts for Bloomberg.com. Passionate and knowledgeable about Champagne, he also runs popular tasting courses.
After reading English Literature at Oxford University, Warwick moved to Rome to teach English as a foreign language. A keen pianist and double bassist, on his return to London he worked as music director on fringe theatre productions, and also began to write opera criticism, liner notes and music features. His work has been published in Opera, The Times, The Guardian and Classic FM Magazine, and he regularly writes for EMI and Decca.
Warwick travels to the Champagne region whenever possible to meet growers and sample their produce. His tasting courses include an entry-level comparison of the most popular non-vintages, including Veuve Cliquot, Moet and Bollinger. He has written about Champagne for The Lady magazine.
A former BBC Radio 3 announcer, he currently serves on the jury for the Royal Philharmonic Society awards, and the Classical BRIT awards.
